What to Expect:

We are excited to unveil an exclusive educational event this spring. Partnering with the acclaimed local folk artist, Bill Sarni, we invite you to join us for an hands on learning experience in our Scituate antique schoolhouse. This three-hour Introduction to Woodcarving class is limited to just 6 students, affording you near one-on-one instruction.

Bill Sarni, a master carver since the mid-1980s, is renowned for his impeccable decoy carvings, characterized by their intricate detail and lifelike forms. A lifelong Hingham resident, Bill has taught small groups of students the art of woodcarving from his barn along with banks of the Weir River.

During class, Bill will guide each student through the creation of their very own “comfort bird” - a small wood carving that fits snugly in the palm of your hand, a symbol of peace and solace. All materials and tools required for this introductory class will be provided, along with coffee and doughnuts and a draft pint of your choice at the conclusion of class.

Spaces for this event are extremely limited! Don't miss the chance to sign up for yourself or gift this extraordinary opportunity to someone you love.
